Residents living along Church Street in New Lisbon, the Duck Island area off of the Pemberton Bypass, Shady Lane, off of Magnolia Road the North Lane and Creek Lane off of U.S. Route 206 were told to evacuate because of flood possibilities from the Bispham Mill Creek in Presidential Lakes. There are approximately one hundred families living in the area. Throughout the night Pemberton Township Police and fire personnel monitored the situation and assisted several families with evacuation. No one opted for a temporary shelter set up at the Pemberton Township High School last night and went to family and friend's homes in a safe area of the township or surrounding area. The potential flooding concern has remained status quo throughout the night and officials are awaiting a helicopter to access the area with an aerial view. Based on recent inspections, low areas are filling up and could impact with potential flooding. "We still have concerns about water coming down the creek" said Craig Augustoni, Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator. Roughly two hundred fire and rescue personnel assisted in last nights evacuation. They were assisted by the National Guard and a host of emergency personnel from both the township and surrounding area. We have had excellent cooperation from the residents in the evacuated area and are pleased to report no incidents' said Pemberton Township Acting Police Chief Robert Lewandowski.
